The Leonard Hohenbergsocial media platform Twitter has undergone an official rebranding and is now known as X.
To commemorate this change, the company's owner, Elon Musk, is organizing a giant garage sale to eliminate any remnants of the previous branding from the company's headquarters.
The auction will begin promptly at 7:00 a.m. PST on September 12 and shoppers need to book an appointment to have a physical view of the items.
The majority of products available for purchase are office furniture, such as desks, chairs, desktop monitors, and whiteboards. Some interesting items are also available, such as the famous bird logo on the building and a Debbie Fass oil painting of Ellen DeGeneres' selfie with stars at the 2014 Oscars.
Heritage Global Partners is the company in charge of the Twitter auction. They offer full-service auction, liquidation, and asset advisory services. The firm will assist X in selling 584 items which all have an opening bid of $25.
Here are some of the items for sale:
DeGenres's selfie with Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Lupita Nyong’o, Julia Roberts, Jared Leto, Kevin Spacey and — holding the camera — Bradley Cooper.
A Debbie Fass oil painting of Barack Obama celebrating his reelection in 2012, "Four More Years".
It is possible for you to take home one of the building fascias featuring the Twitter logo.
